Bill and I are in Utah enjoying our sweet little Riley as well as her big sisters. Our family tree keeps growing! Life is good!

Are the slides getting smaller? If you want to know my opinion...YES! They just don't make slides like they used to! Still fun though!

I used to be so good at gliding across those darn bars! What happened? Again, it must be the faulty equipment!

What is this new contraption that they have these days? I'm just trying it out to make sure it's safe for the little ones!

I thought trampolines bounced. They sure don't have as much bounce in them as they used to! I'll keep trying!

Lorie fell and broke her foot so Bill and I are up in Utah trying to take over her duties as caretaker, cook, cleaner, baker, and entertainer. Our first day on the job...we intended to take the girls to their 9am church. At 7:45 am the girls were in pajamas, eating breakfast, Bill was still in bed, and I was still in MY pajamas. It was at that point that I realized that plan A was not going to work out...Church just wasn't going to happen for us this morning. Maybe next week. On to plan B. Make crockpot lunch. That SOUNDS easy, however I chopped the onion, minced garlic, chopped celery, chopped carrots, and proceeded to chop my FINGER! Ouch! But, the work must go on!!! After our lunch was started, it was time to get Snacks...I think I will be living in the kitchen!!!! To go along with our lunch I also made corn bread. But, my idea of corn bread and Lorie's idea of making corn bread is VERY different! Where is the Jiffy mix??? You want me to make it from SCRATCH????? I made it from scratch...and survived...recipe to come soon! (:
As we ate our lunch, Lorie noticed the overripe bananas and mentioned that I needed to make banana bread to use them up. So, we ground the wheat and mashed the bananas to make the banana bread later that evening. (After I cleaned up from LUNCH!!!).
After the girls woke up from their naps, it was time to get dinner. After dinner was served it was time to set out and make the banana bread with my 2 little hands on cooks in tow. With the recipe in hand I started the "banana bread" following a zucchini bread recipe. Oops. Unfortunately I didn't notice that until MUCH later. I followed that zucchini bread recipe faithfully to the end!!! Never questioning why I was grating zucchini...nor where the bananas would be added to the "banana bread"!!!! When I got up to get the bread out of the oven, I had a aha moment...I had made zucchini bread with the understanding and intent that I was making banana bread. Now, that is scary!! We all enjoyed it, Alexa had seconds...and at the top of tomorrows to do list...make banana bread!!! Check back soon for our next adventures!!! Oh, and did I mention that I am STILL in my pajamas??? Where does the day go?

It has been so much fun having Lorie, McKenzie, and Alexa here visiting. They come in early every morning and we have a picnic. Look at these cute girls with raspberries stuck on the tips of their fingers. They bring such happiness into our home.

Girls Night Out

This was our first annual Girls Night Out! We spent the night at Marriott in Provo, went out to eat, shopped, went to a movie, went to eat, shopped, pampered ourselves at the day spa, went to eat (yes, we like to eat!) and then Lorie and I finished the day off by attending the YW Broadcast at the Conference center while Vickie and Jessica went to a Bridal Fair. We didn't leave the broadcast without an adventure! In the middle of the broadcast Lorie leaned over to me and asked if I remembered where we parked. You can only imagine! Neither of us could remember, and so that night we found out just how large that parking lot really is! In fact, did you know that you take different elevators to get to different sections of the parking lot??? You learn something new everyday. So, one of the nice workers took us around in his car looking for our car while Lorie held her remote control out the window hitting the panic button to make the alarm go off. And, BEFORE that, we were just about to hop onto someone's golf cart when he came by to drop someone off. We thought he was there to help us, he had a confused look on his face as we walked toward him as if we were going with him. It was then that we realized that it was the wrong person and we didn't have an invitation to ride with him. We were sure glad that we hadn't hopped on with him! That could have been awkward! Another day, another adventure!
